John Jameson & Son 'JJ&S' 3 Star Dublin Whiskey

A rare Jameson Irish whiskey bottled by Williams-Egan of Tullamore, from the era of merchant bottlings before Jameson began official bottling in 1968. Distilled at the now-closed Bow Street distillery, which ceased production in 1971 and is now the Jameson visitor centre. Estimated to date from around 1968, with no strength or capacity stated.

Dungourney 1964 30 year old Pure Pot Still Special Reserve

Discovered in 1994 by master distiller Barry Crockett, Dungourney is a rare Irish whiskey from the long-closed Old Midleton distillery. Matured in ex-bourbon barrels and limited to just over 1,200 bottles, these are like gold dust, and this could be one of the very last in existence.

About Us

Garavan's Bar

Established by Charles Garavan Snr in 1937 it was originally a Spirit Grocery, which combined a public house with a grocery shop, serving the people of the city. Garavans are proud to be one of the few Galway families still trading on the city’s main thoroughfare.
